Accessibility Statement

We want as many people as possible to be able to use Wullup. We publish this statement voluntarily.

1. Scope

This statement covers the website wullup.com, the Wullup apps for iOS and Android, and Wullup Backstage (backstage.wullup.com).

2. Our Target

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

3. Conformance Status

wullup.com and the Wullup apps are partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. Some parts do not yet meet the standard (Section 4). We have not yet checked Wullup Backstage systematically.

What already works, among other things:

  • wullup.com declares the page language (German or English) and shows a visible focus indicator on buttons, links and other controls.
  • If you have switched on reduced motion in your system settings, wullup.com switches off its animations and the apps reduce many of theirs.
  • Many controls in the apps have labels for screen readers (VoiceOver and TalkBack).
  • Text in the apps follows the text size set on your device.

4. Known Limitations

  • Flyers and images: On wullup.com, the text alternative of an event flyer gives only the event title; in the apps, the flyer image has no text alternative of its own. Text on flyers, such as the line-up or times, is often not available as text; the title, date and venue are shown as text. Profile pictures, other images uploaded by users and GIF stamps have no text alternative.
  • Voice memos: Voice memos on events have no transcript.
  • Moving content: Crew stories move on automatically after a few seconds; you can pause them only by pressing and holding. The flyer strip on wullup.com moves continuously and pauses only when you point at it with a mouse; it stops if reduced motion is switched on.
  • Gestures: Some functions rely on swipe gestures and have no alternative for screen readers, for example the swipe actions in the chat list, moving between story pages and swiping between feed tabs. Replying to a message by swiping also works via the long-press menu.
  • Maps: Map previews in the apps have no text description. The address is also shown as text.
  • Contrast: Our design is dark. Some secondary text and icons may not reach the required contrast.
  • Keyboard use on wullup.com: There is no "skip to content" link yet.
  • Content from users and organizers: Posts, stamps, chat messages, events and flyers come from users and organizers. We cannot ensure that this content is accessible.
  • Third-party services: Sign in with Apple or Google (apps), Stripe Checkout (Backstage), Apple and Google Wallet passes (wullup.com) and the maps in the apps (Apple Maps or Google Maps) come from third parties. We have little influence on their accessibility.

If you come across a barrier or need information in an accessible form, email [email protected] with the subject "Accessibility". Please tell us which page or screen is affected and what the problem is. We aim to reply within two weeks and will look for another way to give you the information.
